SUNDAY PRACTICE

Sunday's practice on Oct. 1 will be in upper Peterson Creek.  We are going to meet at the parking lot by the Hospice at the corner of Summit and Whiteshield in Upper Sahali - see map.  We will meet at 10 am and be about 1 hour.  The weather could be damp and cold so bring layers and water.

Race distances:

Junior girls / boys races approx. 4 - 5 km (grades 8-10)

Senior girls races approx. 4 - 5 km (gr. 11-12)

Senior boys races approx. 6 -7 km (gr. 11-12)

Warm up race/exhibition race:  

TRU XC Invitational, September 16, MacArthur Island

-park in old BMX track parking lot, at the west end of park)

Start:  I pm: women’s: 5 km, men race at 2 pm: 7km

High school race series:

Race 1:  Petersen Creek - September 27; start at 4:30

Runners arrive by 3:30 for registration and warm up.

Race 2:  Westsyde Centennial - October 4; start at 4:30.

Runners arrive by 3:30 for registration and warm up.

Will probably be two loops for younger, and three loops for older runners.

Race 3:  TBA for Oct 11, Randy Sheldon, the cross country coach in Merritt is thinking about organizing a race...  

Race 4:  Mac Island - October 18 - "City Championship"; start at 4:30

Runners arrive by 3:30 for registration and warm up.

*We may need to start earlier than 4:30, depending on the sunset time.

Zone Championship:  

• the high school Okanagan championship to qualify for provincials is Tuesday October 24 in Penticton/Summerland.  EVERYONE can and should race at zones. We will  have a district bus with all runners from west zone (Kamloops and area) on the bus together.

Provincial Championships: Jericho beach, Vancouver, November 4.

You need to qualify for provincials at zones.
